Bollywood actress and savvy businesswoman, Preity Zinta, has a new business in the works; she is starting an all-girl’s international basketball team, called the Dream Girls.

Zinta already has a strong imprint in the Indian sports market as a board member and chairperson of the Kings XI Punjab team, which is part of one of cricket’s biggest and most profitable leagues - the Indian Premier League.
“Nobody knows I’ve been a gymnast for 11 years, I did karate for 9 years, I am very good at basketball and I rifle shoot too,” she says about her sporting background. “The players will be internationally-famous women like film stars, supermodels, socialites and, of course, there’ll be me - the captain - and we’ll be playing with professional basketball teams around the world,” she says, “American experts from NBA will train us.” Preity is listed at 5 feet 5 inches.
We admire the initiative, and wish them good luck in 2010 and beyond. The questions are: Who are the girls? Who are the trainers? Is this just a dream or will these girls actually assemble and hit the courts in competitive games?
